A treatment room is available on a Monday and Thursday morning between 10.30 - 11.30am by appointment only. Ear syringing, wound dressing, certain bloods and injections are carried out. The District Nurses are often out in the community caring for the elderly and housebound patients carrying our intensive nursing care, providing support for the terminally ill and supporting patients and their carers.
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.
Our health visitor is Lynn Buchanan and you can contact her on 01360 660239.
Mr Ian Wilson, provides this service within the health centre. He is normally available on Thursday afternoons by appointment only.
Katherine is now qualified and trained to take patient bloods and BP tests. When you phone to make an appointment to have either of these taken you will be given a slot in one of Katherine's clinics. We hope you find this is an improvement to our service as it offers more appointments and also frees up some time for our practice nurse to take on more clinical responsibilities.
The practice manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as making sure that the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The practice manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.
Katherine provides an important link with the practice and is your initial contact point for general enquiries. The receptionist can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GP and the nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as dealing with patient records, typing of referrals and general administrative work.
